Our Core Values
What we believe shapes how we live.
Our values are not simply statements on a page. They describe the kind of people we are becoming as we follow Jesus together – a people shaped by His presence, grounded in His Word and sent in the power of His Spirit.
1
His Presence Is Our Priority
We make room for God.
We were created for His presence. More than programmes, platforms or performance, we want Jesus at the centre of everything we do. We welcome the Holy Spirit, listen for His leading and, make space for Him to move.
We don’t want simply to have church. We want to be a people among whom God is at home.
We don’t want simply to have church. We want to be a people among whom God is at home.
“In Your presence is fullness of joy.”
Psalm 16:11 NKJV
Psalm 16:11 NKJV
2
The Word Is Our Foundation
We build our lives on what God has said.
Culture changes. God’s Word does not. Scripture shapes our thinking, corrects us, renews us and teaches us what is true.
We don’t reshape the Bible around our lives; we allow the Word of God to reshape us.
We don’t reshape the Bible around our lives; we allow the Word of God to reshape us.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105 NKJV
Psalm 119:105 NKJV
3
Love Goes First
We love because He first loved us.
The gospel does not merely tell us to love; it shows us what love looks like in Jesus. So we choose compassion over judgement, honour over contempt and reconciliation over division.
People are never projects. They are people Jesus loves.
People are never projects. They are people Jesus loves.
“We love Him because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 NKJV
1 John 4:19 NKJV
4
The Supernatural Is Normal
We expect God to do what only God can do.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe the Holy Spirit is still at work – saving, healing, speaking, restoring, delivering and transforming lives.
We pray with faith, exercise spiritual gifts biblically and make room for God to move, while keeping Jesus - not manifestations at the centre.

“The kingdom of God is not in word but in power.”
1 Corinthians 4:20 NKJV
1 Corinthians 4:20 NKJV
5
We Live From Identity, Not For It
We know whose we are.
The gospel gives us an identity we could never earn. In Christ, we are forgiven, accepted and adopted into God’s family.
We don’t serve to become sons and daughters. We serve because we already are.
That security produces humility without insecurity, confidence without arrogance and generosity without striving.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!”

Everyone Gets to Participate
Ministry belongs to the whole Church.
Jesus did not build His Church around spectators. Every believer has been gifted by God and has something to bring.
We equip people rather than control them. We make room for people to grow, take responsibility, use their gifts and become everything God has called them to be.

“For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.”

We Choose Honour and Healthy Relationships
How we treat people matters to God.
We honour people in every direction – not because everyone is perfect, but because every person bears God’s image.
We speak to people, not about them. We refuse gossip, pursue honest conversations, forgive quickly and seek reconciliation. We can disagree without dishonouring one another.

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another.”

We Live Open-Handed
Everything we have belongs to God.
Grace makes us generous. We give our time, gifts, resources, homes and lives because God has first been extravagantly generous toward us.
Hospitality is more than entertaining friends. It is making room for people. We want the lonely to find family, the overlooked to be seen and everyone who walks through our doors to know there is room at the table.

“Freely you have received, freely give.”

We Are Sent
The river was never meant to stop with us.
Jesus sends His Church into the world carrying good news. What God pours into us is meant to flow through us into our homes, workplaces, neighbourhoods, East London and the nations.
We want to make Jesus known not only through what we say, but through lives that demonstrate His Kingdom.

“As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

What We Believe
Historic Christian faith. Biblical truth. Jesus at the centre.
Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and stand within the historic Christian faith. These convictions shape our worship, our teaching and the way we follow Jesus together.
God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit – one God in three Persons. He is holy, loving, all-powerful, all-knowing and the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, revealed the Father perfectly and proclaimed the Kingdom of God.
He died on the cross for our sins, was buried and bodily rose from the dead. He ascended to the Father and reigns as Lord.
Jesus is not simply a way to God. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Jesus is not simply a way to God. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
John 1:1–14; Colossians 1:15–20; John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is present and active in the Church today.
He brings conviction, gives new life, lives within believers, reveals Jesus, produces His fruit in us and empowers us to live and witness for Christ.
We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in Scripture remain available to the Church today, including prophecy, healing, miracles, tongues and other gifts, always exercised under the authority of Scripture, for the glory of Jesus and the building up of His Church.

John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–25
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our trustworthy and authoritative foundation for faith, doctrine and life.
Scripture does not merely inform us; through it, God forms us. Every experience, teaching and prophetic word must ultimately come under the authority of God’s written Word.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21
Humanity and Sin
We believe every human being is created in the image of God and therefore possesses profound dignity and worth.
Humanity was created for relationship with God, but sin has separated us from Him. We cannot rescue ourselves through morality, religion or good works. We need grace.

Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
Salvation
We believe salvation is the gift of God, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus – not by our own works. Through repentance and faith, we receive forgiveness, new life and reconciliation with God.
In Christ we are made new, adopted into God’s family and called into a life of growing discipleship.

John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 10:9–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ – every person who belongs to Jesus, joined together as His people.
The local church is a spiritual family in which believers worship, pray, learn the Scriptures, share communion, exercise spiritual gifts, care for one another and are equipped to carry the gospel into the world.
Jesus is the Head of His Church, and every believer has a place and a purpose within His Body.

Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 1:22–23
Baptism and Communion
We believe Jesus gave the Church baptism and communion as visible expressions of the gospel.
We practise water baptism for those who have placed their faith in Jesus, identifying with His death, burial and resurrection.
In communion, we remember Christ’s sacrifice, celebrate the new covenant and proclaim His death until He comes.

Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
The Kingdom of God
We believe God’s Kingdom has come near through Jesus Christ. Wherever Jesus reigns, lives are transformed.
We are called to seek His Kingdom, live under His rule and demonstrate its reality through righteousness, peace, joy, compassion, justice, healing and the proclamation of the gospel.
We live in the tension of the Kingdom already present through Christ, while awaiting its complete fulfilment when He returns.

The Return of Christ and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will personally and gloriously return.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, final judgement and eternal life with God for those who belong to Christ. God will ultimately make all things new, and His Kingdom will be fully revealed.
This is not a message of fear for the Church, but of hope. History is moving toward Jesus.
